Marriage: Time of Marriage, Married Life and Nature of Future Life Partner

Meaning of Marriage & how a planet signifies marriage in birth chart and how timing of marriage is done based upon time periods.

Marriage happens when two people of opposite gender agree to live with each other with the consent of society. Telling this statement is necessary in order for you to understand how to see if marriage is promised by a planet and then to figure out the time of marriage.

Marriage is not when two people agree to get into a live-in relationship or mate when they are deeply in love with each other. Mostly when astrologers who fail to predict your marriage timings may tell you this statement that, “You might have been in a live-in relationship with someone or marriage also counts when you have had sex”. This is not true.

Now, when you finally know what is marriage let us understand how a planet signifies marriage in the birth chart.

A Planet Signifies Marriage When It Signifies Houses 2, 7 & 11

House 2: Involvement of Family and Society
House 7: Marriage/Spouse/Partner
House 11: Fulfilment of Desire / Gain

Meaning: Gain (11) of spouse (7) in the family (2)


As per rules of Bhrigu Nadi astrology, 12th house from every house negates the results of that house. Therefore, for a planet to deny/negate marriage it should signify houses 12th from the houses of marriage i.e. 1,6,10.

A Planet Signifies No Marriage/Divorce When It Signifies Houses 1, 6 & 10

House 1: Becoming Single / No Interest in Marriage
House 6: Loss of Spouse / No Partner
House 10: Approval of Court / No Gain

Meaning: Becoming single (1) when the court (10) approves divorce (6)


You will require knowing Rules of Nadi Astrology in order to understand how a planet signify events and in which dasha these events will happen.

Venus is the natural significator of marriage in case of both males and females. Some people who do not understand why Jupiter gives marriage say that it signifies marriage for women. But the truth is any planet can signify marriage.


Marriage can happen in Venus time period even if it is neutral i.e. when it does not signify marriage but it should not signify all marriage negating houses i.e. 1, 6 & 10.

Now, let's understand how a planet signifies or denies marriage through these examples.

Example 1

Planet: 1, 3, 4
              2, 6, 9
              3, 6, 10

This planet signifies marriage negating houses and has the complete combination of 1, 6, and 10. Therefore marriage will not happen in Maha Dasha of this planet.

If this Planet is Venus, even then also it will be negative for marriage. Also, note that house 2 is signified but because it does not have other supporting houses, therefore, it cannot do any help.

Example 2

Planet: 1, 3, 4
              2, 6, 11
              2, 6, 7, 11

This one is bit tricky, I have chosen this one just to help you understand.

  1. Houses indicated in the first line are signified by the planet, second line is signified by the planet’s star lord and third line is signified by the planet’s sub lord.
  2. Give strength of 1 unit to the planet, 2 units to the Star Lord & 3 units to the Sub Lord. Give negative points to negating houses and positive to supporting houses.

Planet/First Line:  House 1 (-1) = -1
Star Lord/Second Line:  House 2 (+1); House 6 (-1); House 11 (+1) = (+1-1+1)*2 = 2
Sub Lord/Third Line:  House 2 (+1); House 6 (-1); House 7 (+1); House 11 (+1) = (+1-1+1+1)*3 = 6

Now, add the results obtained.
-1+2+6 = 7

Result: The planet is positive for marriage.

Example 3

Planet: 1, 2
              6, 7
              10, 11

This one has both the combinations, combinations that approve and deny the marriage. If you will calculate then you will get a zero.


So, will the marriage happen or not?

The answer depends on other planets whose time period is in operation. If they support marriage will happen and if they don’t marriage will not happen.

Meaning, this planet is neutral and has no say of its own. If you calculate the positive and negative separately, then you will get +6 & -6.

Note: A negative answer can still support the event. Positive should be 1/3rd or more than that of the negative number. Example: In this case for a planet having -6 points it should have at least +2 points to agree. Then the event is possible when the time period of a very strong planet is running simultaneously. Strong means a high positive score.

Time of Marriage

After figuring out the planets which are positive & negative in a chart regarding marriage the next thing is to find out the time when the marriage is going to happen. Marriage will happen in the time periods of those planets which supports marriage.

Steps

1) First, check the closest positive main time period (Maha Dasha).
2) Second, find out the first positive sub time period (Antar Dasha )in that main time period.
3) Third, marriage will happen in the positive sub-sub time periods (Paryantar Dasha).

Sequence: Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury

 Example: A person is currently running through Rahu/Mars/Saturn (Rahu Main, Mars Sub, Saturn Sub-sub Time Period) and marriage supporting planets are Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter & Mercury while Rahu & Mars are negative for marriage.

Marriage, in this case, will happen in Jupiter's main time period. In Jupiter's main time period, first positive sub time period will be of Mercury & the first positive sub-sub time period in Mercury's sub time period will be of Venus. Therefore, marriage will happen in Jupiter/Mercury/Venus time period.

In this example, the Sun & the Moon are also positive, therefore, it is possible that marriage is fixed in Venus time period, engagement in Sun time period and marriage in Moon time period. Suppose, marriage is fixed in Venus time period & Sun is negative in this case then the marriage will cancel.

Therefore, if you are willing to get married then you should know that you are not approaching some bad planetary time period. If you are, then you should try to get married as soon as possible.

Once you are married, marriage depends upon the horoscopes of both male & female and if the spouse is having a good chart then the probability of divorce decreases and the marriage is saved.

Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage?

Planets signifying marriage also indicate whether it is going to be a love marriage or an arranged marriage.

Arranged marriage requires no special combination. When the planets signify marriage supporting houses (2, 7 and 11) then an arranged marriage happens.

Falling in love and having a successful romantic relationship is necessary for the love marriage to happen. Therefore, love marriage requires some additional houses.

Fifth house signifies love and romance, and the combination for falling in love is 5, 8 and 12.

If you wish to do a love marriage then you need to have this combination: 2 5 7 8 11 12.

A person having this combination in the majority of planets wishes to do a love marriage and if those planets are strong for marriage and does not signify the sixth house then the love marriage happens.

Married Life

Planets giving positive results for marriage will also give a good married life in their time periods. A person having the majority of planets supporting marriage will have a more caring nature while a person having the majority of planets opposing marriage will have less caring nature.

Good Married Life
A planet indicates good married life when it signifies 5 & 9 along with marriage supporting houses (2, 7, 11).

8 & 12 along with 2, 7 & 11 will bring only physical attraction and the relationship will get romantic when 5 & 9 will also join this combination.

Problems in Married Life
A planet indicates difficulties in marriage when it signifies 8 & 12 along with marriage denying houses (1, 6, 10).


A number of planets signifying marriage supporting combinations indicates that the person tries to maintain a cordial relationship with his/her partner & family while more planets signifying marriage negating combinations give a person separative nature.

The sixth house is the most problematic house for marriage because it is 12th from the prime house of marriage, seventh house, and if a number of planets signify marriage negating houses but not the sixth house, you can expect that the married life will be better.

If the majority of planets signify mixed combinations then the married life will see ups & downs.

Nature of Partner

Honestly, the best way to assess the true nature of your partner is by analyzing his/her chart. But people wish to know how is their future partner going to be.

This is just based on my observation and a birth chart needs to be accurate up to minutes (or seconds in some cases) in order to apply this method. I have applied this to the birth charts of people I know & found that the results obtained are correct.

Method

Check the Cuspal Sub Lord of the 7th house. Ignore the planet's natural significations and just figure out which of these combinations of houses that planet is signifying: Aggressive (7 8 12), Depressive (1 2 6 8) or Cordial (2 5 9 11).

This indicates the nature of your spouse.

But I suggest not to go into this. If you have the majority of planets supporting good married life & indicating a romantic relationship with the partner then you need not to worry.

Horoscope Matching

Whatever you read so far was just based on your own horoscope.

When you are about to marry someone you do the horoscope matching to know how will be your life with your to be husband or wife.

So, the answer is still the same. If your horoscope shows good horoscope then your married life will be good and if it shows problems then you will face problems in married life.

Why?

If the planets in your chart are well placed then they will make you marry a person having similar combinations.

It is not possible that you are facing problems in married life because of your spouse, you suffer because of your own ill placed planets.

My Observation

I have observed that miscommunication usually happens to people when a number of planets signify 6 and 12.

After observing this in a number of charts, I named this as a combination for miscommunication.

 So, if a person has this combination then the spouse may have 6 and 8.

The person will say something wrong or confusing and the spouse will feel depressed due to that.

This is what I have observed a number of times.

When a person has the combination of 6 8 12 in the birth chart then the spouse also has the similar combinations. This leads to arguments, dissatisfaction and miscommunication, depending on the house.

Miscommunication: 6 12
Dissatisfaction: 6 8
Arguments: 8 12

Choosing the Right Partner

You do not need to lose hope just because certain planets in your chart are not well placed. You can have a better married life if you wisely choose the right person.

Right person does not mean that someone having very strong and well placed planets but the person with whom you can live a happier life.

Check for the following things:
  • You and your to be spouse should not simultaneously go through a main time period (Mahadasha) of the planet signifying divorce.
  • If you are aggressive then your spouse should not have a depressive nature and vice versa.
  • At least one of the two should have the combinations positive for making money.
  • Prefer the one in whose horoscope a number of planets signify the complete or partial combination of 2 5 7 9 11.

It is not necessary that only the boy should have planets well placed for the career, if the planets in the girl's chart shows wealth giving houses then she would be able to save the money earned by the husband and her advice in investment related issues will be helpful. It does not matter if she works or she is a housewife.

In India, the horoscope matching is done before the marriage. Astrologers check the horoscope for all types of doshas and problems but never check if the marriage will last or not. If it will not last then it means that it is not going to be a happy married life.

This makes the first point most important of all.

Remedy

To improve the married life or to make the marriage happen, all the 9 planets should be carefully analyzed.

9 planets should be divided into 4 categories:
  1. Positive planets
  2. Negative planets
  3. Mixed planets
  4. Neutral planets
Energies of positive planets should be enhanced and those of negative planets should be reduced using the astrological remedies.

Then you can expect to get married and enjoy marital bliss.
