Sun God (Surya Narayan)

Sun is the King & Supreme Lord; it is self sustaining & a luminary which is the source of light & energy to our planet. Sun is the creator and sustains life on this planet. Due to which Sun is called Surya Narayan (सूर्यनारायण). Surya means Sun, Narayan is one who sustains life.
 Sun being significator of life represents our consciousness. Why? Because only living beings are conscious about themselves & the surrounding. The one who is conscious & experiences the life within cannot do it without a soul. So, Sun is significator of the soul. Just see how everything is connected & how significations were assigned to each & every planet based upon their nature & qualities. Sun is self illuminating and hence it does not contain any shadow or hidden side. Therefore, Sun has noble qualities; it represents Truth, Honour, Righteousness, Leadership and Heroism. Sun being unbiased sheds light equally upon every being. If an object will move close to the Sun it will be burnt to ashes & far objects will get icy cold. Therefore, Sun gives results based upon its placement & is neither benefic nor malefic by nature. But being significator of life does give good health even if it is neutral.

Sun if well placed gives Name, Fame, Respect and Power. Being powerful is signified by the Sun therefore Jupiter only represents Name, Fame & Respect. Being a significator of confidence & self respect, people with a well placed Sun usually gets more respect & honour from everyone. Mythology says, Sun is the source of energy & life to both Deities & Demons due to which everyone used to worship & respect Sun God (देवासुरनमस्कृतम्).

Sun is of fiery nature, Ayurveda says that fiery element makes a person intelligent & gives a person ability to think fast & make wise decisions. If fiery element is balanced in our body then the person has strong bones & muscles. We know we are able to see this world because of light & Sun is the giver of light. So, Sun should also be the significator of vision? Guess what, Ayurveda says, our eyes works perfectly fine when fiery element is balanced in our body. Who is the Significator of fiery element? You know now.

Sun being righteous gives a person nature of being unbiased & support the right while keeping all the self ambitions & personal attachments aside. Such people maintain high standards of morale values & never run away from their responsibilities.

Sun being creator of life signifies Father and Fatherly figures. Sun being the King represents government and the most powerful person of the country i.e. The President (or Prime Minister). Sun represents the main man in any group; a leader, hero, chief or head all are represented by the Sun.

If Sun dasha is in operation & Sun is well placed then a person may get a Government Job or get Property through government. Benefit of which will be government job will get you security, stability & respect and property will be at cheaper price.

Sun signifies light, fire, engine, motor pump, boiler, gas stove; anything which drives the whole system or machinery.

In body parts, sun signifies

·         Heart – Supplies energy through the blood

·         Head – Controls and maintains the working of whole body

·         Eyes – Light enters in our eyes and gives us ability to see

·         Gall bladder – Contains acids; fiery in nature

·         Bones – Responsible for structuring the whole body

Sun is called The Supreme Witness (लोकसाक्षिणे); Sun is that Supreme God, who looks, sees and feels through every being and who knows everything.

सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्यं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्। चिन्ताशोकप्रशमनम् आयुर्वर्धनमुत्तमम्॥ ५॥

sarvamaNgalamANgalyaM sarvapApapraRASanam. cintASokapraSamanam AyurvarDanamuttamam.. 5..

This hymn is supreme and is a guarantee of complete prosperity and is the destroyer of sin, anxiety, anguish and is the bestower of longevity.

सर्वदेवात्मको ह्येष तेजस्वी रश्मिभावनः। एष देवासुरगणाँल्लोकान् पाति गभस्तिभिः॥ ७॥

sarvadevAtmako hyeza tejasvI raSmiBAvanaH. eza devAsuragaRA????llokAn pAti gaBastiBiH.. 7..

He indeed represent the totality of all celestial beings. He is self-luminous and sustains all with his rays. He nourishes and energizes the inhabitants of all the worlds and the race of Devas and Asuras.

ब्रह्मेशानाच्युतेशाय सूर्यायादित्यवर्चसे। भास्वते सर्वभक्षाय रौद्राय वपुषे नमः॥ १९॥

Salutations to the Lord of Brahma, shiva and Achyuta, salutations to the powerful and to the effulgence in the Sun that is both the illuminator and devourer of all and is of a form that is fierce like Rudra.

तमोघ्नाय हिमघ्नाय शत्रुघ्नायामितात्मने। कृतघ्नघ्नाय देवाय ज्योतिषां पतये नमः॥ २०॥

Salutations to the transcendental atman that dispels darkness, drives away all fear, and destroys all foes. Salutations also to the annihilator of the ungrateful and to the Lord of all the stellar bodies.

Sun is our soul & like The Sun we are meant to be Pure, Bright & Self Sustaining.
But we look for our existence into this world & run for acceptance from finite beings.
Truth is like the Sun's light we all are Eternal & Endless.
