In the age of social media and Instagram, people are becoming more and more influenced by the lifestyles they see on social media. This gives a rise to aspirations to attain wealth and live a very comfortable if not a luxurious life. Not everyone is blessed with a good amount of wealth, born in an affluent family or have a high income. It is good to work hard towards your goals and achieve success over time but even though most people want to become wealthy, they just don't get it. We all have seen a prince marrying an ordinary woman in fairy tales. In Korean drama, it is very common to see an extremely rich man marrying an ordinary woman or vice versa. Marrying a rich man/woman can be a shortcut for someone to escape poverty and attain the desired level of wealth and financial freedom. During my consultations, several people come up to me with these questions and through this article I want to guide you to find the best approach for your life based on your planetary placemen...
Planetary time periods indicate which planet will be ruling upon your life at a particular time. A planet gives its results when you are going through the time period of that planet & nature of the results is in accordance with the placement of that planet along with other planets influencing it in your birth chart.
Planetary Period Systems
In Sanskrit, planetary time period is known as Dasha. There are more than 43 Dasha systems while Parashar Rishi alone has mentioned 42 systems. The most popular Dasha system are Vimshottari, Yogini, Char & Ashtottari.- Vimshottari - Assumes that maximum life span of a human being is 120 years and this is the aggregate duration of all planetary dashas i.e. Ketu (7), Venus (20), Sun (6), Moon (10), Mars (7), Rahu (18), Jupiter (16), Saturn (19) and Mercury (17), in the order of their operation.
- Yogini - Total Duration of a Yogini Dasha is 36 years and this is the order of operation & duration of each dasha, Moon (1), Sun (2), Jupiter (3), Mars (4), Mercury (5), Saturn (6), Venus (7) and Rahu (8), Ketu is excluded in this system. Texts says that Lord Shiva mentioned about this Dasha when he was talking with the Goddess Parvati.
- Char - This is the Dasha of Zodiac sign & not planets and this was proposed by Jaimini Rishi. The order of Dasha is either clockwise (direct) or anti-clockwise (indirect). The order is clockwise when a person is having an odd sign in the Ascendant & anti-clockwise if having an even sign in the Ascendant. Eg: Leo Ascendant, Dasha will start from Leo & will end a Cancer sign. Duration of each Dasha is not fixed & calculated based upon planetary positions.
- Ashtottari - This system is not applicable on everyone. Parashar Rishi says that this Dasha is applicable when a native is born when Moon is waning or at the night of Waxing Moon and that too when Rahu is in quadrant with the Ascendant Lord. Sun (6), Moon (15), Mars (8), Rahu (17), Jupiter (10), Saturn (19), Mercury (12) & Venus (21). The duration is 108 years and Ketu is not a part of it.
The Vimshottari, Yogini & Ashtottari dashas depends upon the placements of Moon.
System To Follow
Astrologers suggest applying multiple Dasha systems in order to know about a number of possible events that can occur in life. In my personal experience, I have found that using Vmishottari Dasha system is enough to obtain accurate results. In Vimshottari Dasha, timing of Dasha depends upon in which constellation the Moon is placed. At a time, you are not running through the Dasha of one single planet all the time, you are going through Main Time Period (Maha Dasha), Sub Time Period (Antar Dasha) & Sub-sub Time Period (Paryantar Dasha). The lords of these planets can be same or different.
You do not need to go into calculations because there are software which you can use to find out which planetary time period you are going through. But still I am giving one example to those who wish to understand.
Calculation of Time Periods
Suppose, your Jupiter's main time period started which is 16 years long. In that time period, you will also go through time periods of other planet as well. The first sub period in main time period of any planet belongs to that planet only & same is the case with sub-sub period. The sequence of time periods is cyclic and it goes from Ketu to Mercury always.
Sequence of Sub Time Period in Jupiter Dasha: Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars & Rahu
Length of Jupiter Sub Time Period in Jupiter Main Time Period: 16 * (16/120) = 2.13 years
Length of Saturn Sub Time Period in Jupiter Main Time Period: 16 * (19/120) = 2.53 years
Length of Jupiter Sub-sub in Jupiter Sub Time Period: 2.13 * (16/120) = 0.284 years = 104 days
Similarly, you can calculate the duration of all the Sub & Sub-sub Time Periods.
Why Not To Follow Multiple Systems?
While using one single system of Dasha you need to take three different planets into account in order to find out what will happen at a particular time in your life. One planet can signify multiple events and a combination of three planets will signify even more. If you will take multiple Dasha systems to find out what will happen, you will have to see even more number of planets and together they will signify almost everything. Some planets will indicate issues with friends while other will tell about relationship with the colleagues and these things are a part of life. We do not need to predict if your friend will say yes for a treat or your crush will pass a smile today. We use astrology to predict major events like marriage, reconciliation, getting into relationship, promotion, accidents, foreign travel and things like that.
